MASSE CONGRATULATES WINDSOR PARADE ON FEDERAL FUNDING FOR SUMMER FEST
Federal money for Summer Fest was made possible by strong advocacy

OTTAWA, ON- Today, Brian Masse, M. P. (Windsor West) and NDP Industry, Automotive, and Border Critic, congratulated the Windsor Parade Corporation (WPC) on receiving funding from the federal government for the Summer Fest.

At a press conference in Windsor at the Canadian Club Brand Centre on Riverside Drive, officials from the WPC made the announcement of the grant from the Heritage Canada program Building Communities through Arts and Heritage. This government of Canada initiative offers support for activities that are intended for and open to the general public and celebrate local heritage, artists, and artisans. A representative for Masse delivered greetings and congratulations.

“The success of Summer Fest, and all events across the country this season, is dependent on the federal government living up to its obligations. Only the strong advocacy by the Windsor Parade Corporation and its supporters made this possible. On this specific case, I would like to thank the department for fulfilling its mandate and congratulate the WPC on its success and effective representation for an event the whole community looks forward to,” Masse stated.
