MASSE TO HONOUR 30 RECIPIENTS WITH THE

QUEEN’S DIAMOND JUBILEE MEDAL

WINDSOR – Brian Masse MP (Windsor West) along with Chief Bruce Montone from Windsor Fire & Rescue Services will honour 30 recipients with the Diamond Jubilee Medal. This commemorative medal was created to mark the 2012 celebrations of the 60th anniversary of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s accession to the Throne.

“It is with great excitement that we recognize individuals from our community with a reception ceremony and honour guard parade to celebrate their contributions to improve the conditions of fellow Canadians at home and abroad, said Masse.  This is a legacy activity that honours Her Majesty the Queen and recognizes the service of Canadians from all walks of life and backgrounds, who assist to create the Canada of today.

The Diamond Jubilee is an opportunity to highlight those Canadians, who, like Her Majesty, have dedicated themselves to service to family, community and country through their significant contributions and achievements. Other commemorative medals created in Canada include the Canadian Centennial Medal (1967); the Queen Elizabeth II Silver Jubilee Medal (1977); the 125th Anniversary of the Confederation of Canada Medal (1992); and the Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Medal (2002). During the year of celebrations, 60 000 deserving Canadians will be recognized for their contributions to Canada.

The following recipients will be honoured:
