WINDSOR – Brian Masse MP (Windsor West) will host a Family Day SKATE & DONATE at the Lanspeary Park ice rink for a free Family Skate on Family Day. Last year Masse held a similar event for the first time, where we encouraged a food drive and were able to send a small truck full of non perishable food items to a local shelter.

Masse states: “There is still a great need for many individuals and families to access food banks in Windsor and Essex County so we decided to make this an annual event.  This year we will support the Welcome Centre Shelter for Women and Downtown Mission food banks.”

Everyone who attends will be entered into a free raffle just for coming out for Family Day. We will have a few prizes just for this participation.  For those with food donations, they will be given additional tickets to be entered into a prize raffle.

Masse expressed appreciation to the volunteers from CUPE Local 82 who have agreed to assist with the skate again this year. “We are pleased to volunteer our personal time on Family Day to help make a difference in our community”, said CUPE Local 82 President Rob Kolody.
